At Delves Lane Primary School, we have experience of supporting children and young people with a wide range of need including:
- Children with Speech, language and communication difficulties
- Children with autism
- Children with specific learning difficulties
- Children with moderate learning difficulties
- Children with hearing and visual impairment
- Children with physical difficulties
- Children with social and emotional difficulties
The school provides data on the levels and types of need to the Local Authority. This is collected through the school census.

- 28 children have Communication and Interaction needs = 35% of SEN children
- 59 children have Cognition and Learning needs = 75.6% of SEN children
- 17 children have Social, Emotional and Mental Health = 21.7% of SEN children
- 7 children have Sensory and Physical = 8.9% of SEN children
Percentage of SEN children who have more than one area:
- 26 children = 33% of the children on the SEN register have more than one area of need.
