School Sport and Physical Activity

At Delves Lane Primary we are keen to promote all forms of physical education, school sport and physical activity and the benefits these can bring to your child’s life.

We have various boys and girls sports teams competing in local leagues and regularly take part in sporting festivals (both competitive and inclusive) and competitions at a local and county level.

We also love to promote sport and physical activity within our school and regularly host House Cup Sports Events throughout the year during which children compete as part of their school house in a range of different sporting activities.  These events are concluded in our traditional end of year sports days held for all age groups.

We are very proud of all the sports performers who represent our school but we are keen to include all children in school sport and physical activity.  We have recently introduced two ‘Sports Councillors’ who sit on the children’s school council and consult on various physical education, school sport and physical activity related issues and have many successful young leaders who assist during playtimes and with the running of various sporting events at our school.
