This year our boys and girls teams have again been taking part in the Derwentside Primary School Football Leagues which restarted this September. Both teams now play all their matches at Consett AFC stadium with the Girl’s team competing on a Monday night and the Boy’s team competing on a Wednesday night. The children have had a fantastic time taking part against pupils from a range of local primary schools!
Girls Football Team
This is the first experience of girls football for many of this year’s team and they have performed fantastically throughout, developing as a team as the season has progressed. They have had various successes – winning serval games and scoring lots of goals. Well done to all the girls representing our school, they should be very proud of their efforts. They have displayed excellent sportsmanship throughout and have been a great credit to Delves Lane Primary School!
Boys Football Team
The boys have greatly enjoyed competing together this year. For many, it is the first time they have played as part of a competitive team and they have shown great effort and enthusiasm in each match played. The children have supported each other during games and have worked hard to develop as a team. They have remained superb ambassadors for our school throughout, working together well as a team and demonstrating excellent team spirit.
