Please read to find out information about how our school is celebrating World Book Day and the Sponsored Read 2020 we would like our children to take part in.
Many thanks.
This term all our children, from Nursery to Year 6, have been working hard in their PE lessons to compose and perform a dance routine linked to the topics they have been learning about in class and all the children came together this week to perform their dances as part of our annual Dance Festival.
The children had great fun watching their peers perform and clapped and cheer on one another throughout. Once again, they put on a fantastic show with themed performances from Superheros to Space that would rival anything seen on Britain’s Got Talent! A huge well done to all the children who took part.

Delves Lane Primary School
A group of girls and boys from Years 3, 4 and 6 recently took part in the annual Sainsbury’s School Games Swimming Gala held and the Louisa Centre. All the children had a great time competing against over 15 other local primary schools and demonstrated their fantastic swimming skills and great determination in a range of individual and team events. The children, along with a large crowd of spectators, had great fun cheering on one another and joining in the excitement. All the children behaved fantastically throughout and were excellent role models for our school. On the day, Team Delves had various successes with multiple 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishes in their heats. A huge well done to all the children who represented our school this year!

Please find attached the results from our latest Parent Survey. It’s terrific to see so many positive comments from parents and carers regarding Delves Lane Primary School. We will also be using the comment and suggestions to further improve the school in the future so thank you so much to everyone who took the time to complete it.
Krazy Kingdom
This week all the boys and girls from Phoenix House took part in their reward trip to Krazy Kingdom to celebrate earning the most house points during the Autumn Term. The children had a great time playing with their friends and took full advantage of the wide range of facilities on offer such as ball pits, climbing walls, slides and a football zone. Throughout the trip, the children were excellent ambassadors for our school, particularly some of the older children who looked after both younger pupils and members of the public who were also using the facilities. Well done to all the children who took part in the visit and congratulations to Phoenix House for earning the most points last term. Keep up the good work!
The children in Year 3 had a great time at their dodgeball festival at North Durham Academy. They used the throwing, catching and dodging skills they had been practising in PE fantastically against teams from various other local schools. All of the children showed great teamwork and had lots of fun working together as a team!
Recently, a group of Year 6 pupils took part in the Derwentside Dodgeball Festival at North Durham Academy. The children had a great time competing against pupils from other local schools and performed fantastically throughout. They showed great team spirit cheering on one another and demonstrated excellent sportsmanship and honesty during games. Well done to all the children who took part!
