Recently, a group of boys and girls from Year 6 took part in this year’s Sportshall Athletics Competition held at the Louisa Centre, Stanley. The children participated in a wide range of athletic track and field events and greatly enjoyed competing against peers from other local schools. All our children were fantastic ambassadors for our school, demonstrating a fantastic team spirt and cheering one another on throughout. Several children won their individual events and overall Delves finished in a close second place. Congratulations to all the children who took part. Go Team Delves!
Halloween Multi-Skills Festival
Maple and Juniper Class had a spooktacular time at the Halloween Multi-Skills Festival at the Louisa Centre!
They had so much fun joining in with the Halloween themed PE activities, which included an Addams Family themed dance class, several spooky obstacle courses and many more tricks and treats.
We were extremely proud of how the children demonstrated great sportsmanship and determination throughout the activities – well done to all the children in Maple and Juniper Class!

🔥 Get Active Challenge! 🔥
As our first family challenge, we are setting the monumental task of walking, running or cycling the 272 mile / 438 kilometre distance from DELVES LANE PRIMARY all the way to BUCKINGHAM PALACE!!!!
This huge challenge will most certainly need the help of all our children, parents and school staff if it is to succeed and here’s what we need you to do…
Throughout this week, record any walks, runs or bike rides you go on as a family and simply email in to school your efforts or share them below in the comments section for this post.
We will keep track of how we are getting on as a school and will update you on our progress as the week goes on. We can’t wait to find out what you get up to and would love to see lots of pictures of the whole family in action, so please send us lots of pictures of you all taking part!
All that’s left to say is good luck and have fun! And, hopefully we’ll make it there in time to pop in for a socially distanced cup of tea with the Queen…
READY… STEADY… GO!!!! 🚶♀️ 🏃 🚴♀️

Delves Lane Dance Festival 2019-20
This term all our children, from Nursery to Year 6, have been working hard in their PE lessons to compose and perform a dance routine linked to the topics they have been learning about in class and all the children came together this week to perform their dances as part of our annual Dance Festival.
The children had great fun watching their peers perform and clapped and cheer on one another throughout. Once again, they put on a fantastic show with themed performances from Superheros to Space that would rival anything seen on Britain’s Got Talent! A huge well done to all the children who took part.
