SLP Tag Rugby Festival 2021-22

Recently a group of Year 6 children took part in the SLP Tag Rugby Festival at Consett Rugby Club. They had a fantastic time despite the gloomy weather and grew in confidence as the day progressed. They worked brilliantly as a team demonstrating great sportsmanship and determination throughout finishing in 4th place overall out of over 20 teams. They even managed to walk away with their very own free water bottle from Consett Rugby Club. All the children were fantastic ambassadors for our school and should be very proud of all their efforts. Well done Team Delves!

Throughout the last year, our children in Classes 13 and 14 have worked so hard and achieved so much!

We can’t believe they are all off to secondary school in September. They have been excellent role models to our younger children and should feel extremely proud of all they have achieved throughout their time at DLPS. Every one of our Year 6 children are a credit to themselves, their families and our school family and we wish them a happy and successful transition to secondary education.

Remember Year 6, this poem by Caitlin Peterson:
Life is a journey, just so you know.
It’s up to you to decide where to go.
Up a mountain, or down a hill,
people will always go where they will.
Spend your time alone or spend it with others,
as long as you’re happy, that’s all that matters.

PRIMARY STARS COMPETITION!!!!

Hi everyone!!

The Foundation of Light have teamed up with Manchester City, Blackburn Rovers and Everton FC to host a number of online competitions for you to take part in over the coming weeks…

The first challenge has been launched by Manchester City and all the children have to do to enter is video themselves completing a top trick shot with a totally awesome celebration!!

Parents/ guardians should email their entries to becky.topping@cityfootball.com or use the twitter tag @citctweets
along with their school name and year group.

A winning video from KS1 and KS2 will then be chosen with the winners receiving a special prize from Man City FC.

⭐️Star of the Week⭐️

Next week we will be reintroducing the ‘Star of the Week’!! Teachers will be nominating ‘Star of the Week’ for children who are impressing them with work they are completing at home/in school (children in school are vulnerable pupils and those whose parent is a critical worker).

Mrs Woods and Miss Webb will be sending Zoom invitations to families later next week for children who have been nominated as Star of the Week 😀. Mrs Woods/Miss Webb will then meet with Star of the Week children virtually on Friday next week.
