Mental Health Awareness Week

May 17, 2020 by nickjones

This year’s Mental Health Awareness Week falls this week, 18-24 May. Of all times, this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week is the most pertinent. In this tough time; where our opportunities to see friends, families and loved ones are limited and uncertainties reign, it is crucial that we take care of our own mental health and acknowledge the challenges that we all face. This year’s theme is kindness. We must think about kindness to ourselves and to others.

Please take time this week to consider your own mental health and be kind to yourselves. It is far too easy to put undue pressures on ourselves and we owe it to ourselves in these times to look after our own well-being.

Being kind to ourselves enables us to be kind to others. The kindness we show can range from tiny daily acts to more significant ones. Whatever the act, kindness can make a big difference. The below website is full of resources and ways for you to get involved or simply to keep yourself healthy.

Whatever you choose to do this week, remember: Mental Health matters, so #Bekind.

Thank you, as ever for the kindness you show to us and to one another. We are proud to be a part of our community.

Stay safe,

DLPS 🌈
